Discernment takes time.

Fall in love with Jesus.

It all begins with a relationship. The Lord longs for you to receive His love. Spend time with God daily; share your heart with Him. Learn to spend time in silence. From there you’ll notice ways God is trying to love you.

Diocesan Priesthood

Diocesan priests serve in a diocese/region. Their mission is to help others fall in love with Jesus. They usually minister at a parish, but are called to shepherd all people at all times.

The process of becoming a priest takes several years, including time spent at the seminary. Formation at the seminary helps a man know and love Jesus first so He can share that love with others.

Women and Men Religious

Everyone has a call to holiness. The Holy Spirit calls some people to receive a particular gift, known as a charism. Some feel called to share this charism in a special way; they join a community of others with the same call.

Women and men religious take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. This commitment takes several years.

Take Action.

Talk to the Vocation Director. Go on a retreat. Ask questions. Share what you’re feeling with your family (yes, this is important).

And if you’re called, take a big step and ask for an application. It’s a scary step, but there’s so much peace and joy when the Lord confirms your call!

I’d love to connect with you and help you on your discernment journey!
